GOD's wisdom to you

Before we know God and know how He wants us to live, we live the best way we can. We look for love, we look for success, we look for purpose in our life. We do our best, but things go wrong and bad things happen to us and we make bad choices. We experience times of sadness and confusion and wonder what life is all about.

The bible says that there is a way that seems right to a man but the end of that way is death. The bible says that we are in darkness and we need to find the light. It says that we are looking for truth and we are looking for love and we will find neither in this world apart from through Him.

Isaiah 59: 9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither does justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. 10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. 11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

Jesus said that we are lost. He said that we are like sheep that have gone astray. We have wandered away from the shepherd and can't find our way back.

There are wild animals around that want to attack us and cause us harm. To save ourselves we become like the wild animals around us. We lose our innocence and do things that we know are wrong so that we can survive and fit in and cope with life in a mad and savage world.

But as we do, something in us dies and our heart hardens and we become a person that we don't really want to be.

When we are on our own we are not happy. We wonder what will become of us. We want to be different, we want to experience peace and contentment but it seems so far from us.

But God loves us. The bible tells us that God made us in His own image and He desires to help us. He can save us from the evil that is within us and around us. He is able to forgive our sins and change our hearts and give us His strength and wisdom.

Do you realise how much God loves you? Do you realise how much you need God?

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and God has laid on Jesus Christ the sins of us all.

There is wickedness that lurks within every heart. Each one of us can be hurtful to others, we can hate, we can lie, we can steal, we can lust after a woman, or desire a man. We can look good on the outside but on the inside where no one else can see, our minds can be dirty and our hearts filled with darkness. Sometimes we let evil have its way and we are surprised by its power within us. We think that we are in control but soon realise that its power over us is stronger than we realised. Anger turns to hate, , covetousness turns to theft, jealousy turns to rage, lust turns to unfaithfulness and betrayal.

This evil within is called sin. The bible says that sin separates us from God, sin causes us to be dead towards God. Our sins are a breaking of God's moral laws. God has established a moral law in the universe just as he has established the physical laws of gravity and planetary motion and thermodynamics and genetics. God is righteous and Holy. He can have nothing to do with sin. The bible says that sin must be judged and removed form God's universe. The judgement on sin is death. This removes sin from the material universe, but there is another death that the bible talks about. It is called the second death. It is separation form God for all eternity. Our body is mortal but our souls are eternal. They were created to be with God for all eternity but sin banishes a soul from God. The bible says. "the soul that sins shall die." "The wages of sin is death"

God Loves man but He hates his sinfulness. God made a way for man to become free from sin. God sent Jesus Christ His only son into this world to become a sacrifice for all sin for all men for all time.

The bible says that God took the sins of all the world and laid them on Jesus Christ. The bible says that Jesus was made sin for us. Under the weight of the sins of the world, Jesus was crucified by wicked men and died. In His death, the sins that he was bearing were removed form the universe because they were paid for with His own blood. Because He was God His death was effective for all men for all sin for all time.

But Jesus had never sinned Himself. He was the spotless pure Son of God. The bible says that He knew no sin, He did no sin. So once He had willingly offered Himself to die on our behalf, those sins were paid for and death could not hold Him any longer in its grip. He rose from the dead and today He is alive. The bible says that He sits on the right hand of His Father in heaven praying for us, drawing us back to God through His love and through circumstances and through the work of His church and the preaching of the gospel, which is the good news.

It is not just chance that you are reading this and thinking and weighing up what you are reading, God is drawing you back to Himself. He led you to read this. He wants you to hear what he is saying, he wants you to respond and he wants you to be set free and be saved. He doesn't want you to be lost in darkness any longer. Jesus said that he was the light of the world and that if any man would follow Him he would not walk in darkness but he would have the light of life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever would believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

God offers you eternal life, a life that starts here and now. God offers to shine His light on your pathway and lead you. All he asks is that you will put your trust in Him and believe that Jesus is His Son and that what he did, He did for you, personally.

Has there ever been a time in your life when you received Jesus Christ as your personal savior?

Jesus said that He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you hear His voice, He says to you, open the door and I will come in.

You don't have to pay for your sins, Jesus has paid for them already. All you need to do is believe, and ask God to forgive you for Jesus sake. God knows your heart. He knows your sincerity and your need and He will respond to what you do in a wonderful way.

You can start a new life with God as your Heavenly Father right now. Right now repent of your sins and ask Him for forgiveness. To repent means to turn away from what is wrong and evil in your life and turn to God instead. God can forgive you if you ask Him because of what Jesus has done for you on the cross. If you sincerely want to have the eternal life that God is offering you though Jesus Christ, then pray this prayer from your heart.

God, I come to you in prayer to confess that I am a sinner. I have broken your laws and lived for myself. I have not lived a life which pleases you, I have not believed in Jesus your Son who you sent into the world to save us from our sins.

Please forgive me of all my many sins. Wash my unclean heart and make it pure and holy in your sight by the blood of Jesus. Please make me into a new person through the power of your Holy Spirit. Help me to become the person you want me to be. I want to live for you from now on. I want to serve you from now on. Thank you for being my personal Saviour.

I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son.

If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart then God will hear and God will begin to work in your life.
